The Riverway

3.2 mi.

The Riverway in Radford is a 3.2 mile paved trail that goes through two of the cities parks and continues into the town past that.  The trail was constructed in 2004 so it is decently new but has been very popular in the short time it has been around.  Since it is paved and there is very few hills this trail is acceptable for the whole family including pets.  There are three parking lots space throughout the trail so walkers can get on and off wherever they want too.  If walkers take the trail through Wildwood Park there is the option to see a very small cave and a butterfly garden, full of Butterfly Bushes, Milkweed, and Lavender.  Throughout the path there are daffodils, tulips, buttercups, and snapdragons to name a few of the many wildflowers that grow here.  The trail also passes over Connely's Run which is a nice place to get your feet wet on a hot day, if you are looking to get submerged the trail also runs parallel the New River which can be swam in at your own risk.
