Devil's Marbleyard
3 mi.
The Devil's Marbleyard, located in Natural Bridge, VA is one of the most unique trails hikers can do in the area, if you're into rock climbing. With an elevation gain of 1,600' it is a moderately difficult hike that will involve a lot of scrambling over boulders to reach the top where viewers will get a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. There are no bathroom facilities and this trail is not recommended for pets or children under the age of 9 due to the nature of the terrain. Be very careful as this trail is not very well marked and some of the boulders are lose and can cause hikers to lose their footing and fall quite far. The marbleyard itself is a field of boulders near the top of the mountain which will require a certain skill to tackle, containing boulders ranging from the size of an end table to some the size of semi-trucks. This unusual natural feature is what makes this trail so unique compared to other mountains in the area.
